Once again “ONTRACK”, Tendring District’s public transport voice, will hold another lively debate on local transport issues at the AGM ON SATURDAY 21st. MAY 2016 at Frinton Methodist Church Hall Ashlyn’s Road 10.30 A.M. – 12 NOON. The Debate Topic is “WILL THE NEW FRANCHISE BE A GOOD DEAL FOR US?” After the debate there will also be a short “General Surgery Session” to enable hot issues to be noted and fed back to ABELLIO, Greater Anglia Railways. The past debates have been lively and well attended: No doubt many will be asking whether the new rail franchise will bring service and infrastructure improvements to employment and education opportunities; BOOST economic regeneration and tourism and be better at getting one to/ from work?

THE KEY NOTE SPEAKER will be Councillor Mark Platt Vice Chair Elect of Tendring District Council, Past Cabinet Member for Leisure & Tourism. Cllr Mark Platt who also chairs a number of Tendring District’s Committees including the Transport Liaison Group overseeing Local Public Transport Issues, of which “ONTRACK”, Essex Rail Users Federation, Manningtree RUA are stakeholder members. Over 2015-16 all potential bidders for the new rail franchise were met and substantive consultative submissions sent to the Dept. for Transport, Network Rail and Passenger Focus.
